Why I Do What I Do: A Reflection of Compassion, Comfort, and Calling

There is something sacred about being present with someone in their most vulnerable moments.
Whether it’s a client lying on my table carrying the weight of chronic pain…Or a mother preparing to bring life into the world…I am constantly reminded that my work is more than a service.
It is a calling and a ministry.
The Gift of Being Present in Pain
Pain has a way of making people feel isolated.
Physically.
Emotionally.
Spiritually.
And in those moments, what people often need most isn’t just relief…They need to feel seen. They need to feel safe. They need to feel cared for.
As a massage therapist and doula, I have the honor of stepping into those moments—not to fix everything, but to hold space with compassion and intention.
To offer a gentle reminder: you are not alone.
A Reflection of God’s Love
The deeper I walk in this work, the more I realize—it mirrors something far greater than me.
It reflects how God loves us.
God meets us in both our joy and our suffering. He comforts us in our pain. He walks with us through uncertainty. And most importantly… He never leaves.
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” – Psalm 34:18
That same heart posture is what I strive to carry into every session, every birth, every interaction.
Not perfection. Not pressure. Just presence.
Serving Through Massage
Massage therapy is often seen as relaxation—and yes, it can be.
But for many of my clients, it goes deeper than that.
It becomes:
A release from chronic tension
A safe space to exhale
A moment to reconnect with their body
A pause from the demands of life
Through touch, I aim to communicate what words sometimes cannot: care, compassion, and restoration.

Serving Through Doula Work
Doula work carries a different, yet equally powerful weight.
To support a woman during pregnancy, labor, and postpartum is to witness transformation in its rawest form.
It is:
Holding her hand when fear creeps in
Speaking life and encouragement when she feels unsure
Creating a calm, grounded presence in a life-changing moment
It is standing in the gap—physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
And in those moments, I am reminded again:
This is not just work.
This is ministry.

Why It Matters to Me
I don’t take lightly the trust my clients place in me.
To allow someone into your space—your body, your journey, your experience—is deeply personal.
And I genuinely love that I get to show up for people in that way.
To bring comfort. To offer peace. To reflect love.
Because at the end of the day, that’s what I believe we are all called to do.
A Living Reflection
My work is not about being the source.
It’s about being a reflection.
A reflection of:
God’s compassion
His gentleness
His unwavering presence
And if someone leaves my care feeling even a little more supported, a little more at peace, a little more whole…
Then I know I’ve done what I was called to do.
Closing Thought
No matter what season you are in—whether you are carrying pain, preparing for new life, or simply needing a moment to breathe—
You are not alone.
And you deserve to be cared for with intention, compassion, and grace.
