If you sit on my massage table long enough, you’ll hear me say this:
Your body is always communicating.
As women navigating stress, hormones, inflammation, fertility journeys, pregnancy, postpartum recovery, or simply trying to feel good again — what we put on and in our bodies matters.
One of the simplest ways to reduce toxic load (without becoming overwhelmed) is understanding something called The Dirty Dozen and the Clean 15.
Let’s break it down in a way that feels doable — not extreme.
🌿 What Is the Dirty Dozen?
The Dirty Dozen is a list released each year by the Environmental Working Group (EWG). It highlights the fruits and vegetables found to have the highest pesticide residues when conventionally grown.
These are the ones you should prioritize buying organic when possible.
The Dirty Dozen (recent list typically includes):
Strawberries
Spinach
Kale, collard & mustard greens
Grapes
Peaches
Pears
Nectarines
Apples
Bell & hot peppers
Cherries
Blueberries
Green beans
Why does this matter for you?
Because pesticide exposure has been linked to:
Hormone disruption
Fertility challenges
Increased inflammation
Nervous system stress
Developmental concerns in pregnancy
For my prenatal moms, TTC clients, and women working to regulate cortisol and inflammation — reducing toxic load supports everything we’re trying to do inside the treatment room.
🥕 What Is the Clean 15?
The Clean 15 includes produce found to have the lowest pesticide residues — even when conventionally grown.
These are generally safe to buy non-organic if budget is tight.
The Clean 15 often includes:
Avocados
Sweet corn
Pineapple
Onions
Papaya
Sweet peas (frozen)
Asparagus
Honeydew
Kiwi
Cabbage
Mushrooms
Mangoes
Sweet potatoes
Watermelon
Carrots
This is where we practice wisdom over perfection.
Why This Matters for Services By Kim Clients
If you are:
Receiving prenatal massage
Working through chronic pain and inflammation
Healing from burnout
Preparing for pregnancy
Recovering postpartum
Trying to balance hormones
Reducing anxiety and nervous system overload
Then lowering your overall toxic burden supports your healing work.
Massage improves lymphatic flow.
Hydration supports detox pathways.
Clean nutrition reduces what your body has to process.
It all works together.
✨ Let’s Keep This Real
I am not here to tell you:
Throw out all your groceries.
Only shop at Whole Foods.
Stress over every ingredient.
Stress itself is inflammatory.
Instead, I encourage:
1. Swap one thing at a time.
Start with strawberries. That’s it.
2. Wash produce properly.
A simple baking soda soak (1 tsp baking soda in water, soak 10–15 minutes) helps remove surface residues.
3. Prioritize based on your season of life.
Pregnant? Focus more intentionally.
On a tight budget? Use the Clean 15 wisely.
Healing hormones? Reduce where you can.
Small shifts compound.
A Gentle Reminder
Your body is not failing you.
It is responding to what it’s given.
At Services By Kim, we don’t just chase symptoms — we support the whole woman.
The nervous system.
The hormones.
The inflammation.
The environment.
Healing isn’t extreme.
It’s intentional.
If you’re ready to support your body inside and outside the treatment room, book your next session or ask me about simple lifestyle shifts tailored to your season.
Your body deserves support — not overload. 🌿
